Improving Web Access for Visually Impaired Users
IT Professional - IEEE Computer Society
July 2004
Abstract:
Technology advances and the continuing convergence of computing and telecommunications have made an unprecedented amount of information available to the public. For many people with disabilities, however, accessibility issues limit the impact of such widespread availability. Of the many types of disabilities mobility, hearing, and learning impairments, for example vision impairments are most pervasive in the general population, especially among seniors.
J2ME (Java Mobile Edition) Media for the Enterprise
International Developer Magazine
September 2003
Abstract:
J2ME (Java Mobile Edition) performing under improved standards, including JSRs 135 & 118 and MIDP 2.x, will effectively leverage how true application dynamics can be achieved using small intelligent front-ends with powerful robust back-end services. As of late 2002, few U.S. implementations are in place but many exist internationally and that will continue to grow in 2003 both here and abroad. Using accepted JCP standards and specifications will help you prepare and support this growth once your app is integrated with an OEM and supported carrier service provider.
Speakable RFID (Whitepaper)
January 2004
Abstract:
AMN Mediabroker(r): A commercially-based solution addressing request and response automation bridging auto ID’s with accurate and natural media signal transport and recognition. The application delivers results through a wide variety of formats and transcoding processes. The usability of media signal packets within point-to-point scenarios is derived by the input and output of signals to define a positive effect for low-cost, high ROI business productivity.
